Friends of Mysteryis a non-profit literary/educational organization in Portland, Oregon which promotes all realms related to mystery and crime fiction and non-fiction. We sponsor a series of public meetings called
Bloody Thursdays, publish The Blood-Letter, and give an annual award, the Spotted Owl, for the best mystery by a Pacific Northwest author. And, we also sponsor a local reading group.

Oregon State Poetry Association strives to bring together, and nurture, the widest possible community of Oregon poets; to help Oregon poets, young and old, develop their talents and skills; to stimulate, at the grassroots level, a statewide appreciation of poetry; and, to raise public awareness of Oregon poets, past and present.
Oregon Writers Colonyis a place for writers. A Community of Writers celebrating 27 years of service to the writing community. This is a nonprofit organization representing and nurturing both professional and novice writers. This is a place for people working together to provide opportunities whereby writers are supported and encouraged in a community of their peers.

Willamette Writersis the largest writers' organization in Oregon and one of the largest writers' organizations in the United States. It is a non-profit, tax-exempt Oregon corporation led by volunteers. Elected officials and directors administer an active program of monthly meetings, special seminars, workshops and conferences. Continuing with established programs and starting new ones is only made possible by strong volunteer support. Members continually explore other ways to interact in the literary community.
